Value of the Church like good Auto Club... until..?

A friend - a super smart one - gave me this interesting view of Church.
"Value of the church - it's like a good auto club"

Like good auto club- anywhere you go, you have an on-location support. It is cool
However, what is not soooo cool about is when these people start to become self-righteous.
and forget other people can have their own form of Auto Club too!!

This is a very interesting view - any other similar view out there?
